Coroners Office

If a death seems suspicious, the Coroners Office begins an investigation with the Boone County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division into the cause of death. Many individuals believe that a death that occurs outside of the traditional hospital facility is potentially suspicious, so most deaths are investigated by a Coroner and the Criminal Investigation division. The coroner's Office is also responsible for the transfer of deceased individuals to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsies when needed.
